Casey: Mounting figure in old school French Hip-Hop

4 May

While I have only heard of her recently it seems Casey has been around for quite a while. Hailed has one of the rapper of the moment, she brings us back to more original hip-hop, when lyrics prevailed over gangsta-attitude.

This track is particularly interesting as it does not deal with Banlieue issues but dig further in the shameful part of our history that is colonisation!

Oxmo Puccino

In a long line of artists contributing to raising awareness or funds for charities…. Our dear Oxmo Puccino has left his Jazz Bastards to create a unique track to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the convention for children’s right in association with UNICEF…. quite a worthy cause….

La Caution: “Thé a la menthe”

3 Jul

This is not just new but it is quite seasonal in its own exotic way and definately worth another listen.

You probably remember “Thé a la menthe” instrumental in “Ocean’s Twelve” but the track originated in Paris Suburban ghetto dubbed with sharp rap lyrics.

The two Mcs of LA CAUTION, Hi-Tekk and Nikkfurie, are also part of Vincent Cassel’s production crew “Kourtrajme” and we are offering you below a quick snap at their video also featuring comedian “Ramzi” and Mr Cassell himself:
